Metro Atlanta, GA LED Lighting

Patterson Electrical Contractors Inc.

LED means Light Emitting Diode. It is best described as a "bright, energy-efficient lighting component with no moving or fragile parts" that benefits both residential and commercial areas. Unlike regular fluorescent lamps, LEDs use less power therefore saving energy costs between 50% and 90%.

Since LEDs are 100% recyclable and non-toxic, impact on humans and earth is minimal. LEDs also do not emit infrared or UV rays and they do not produce electro-magnetic interference.

LEDs can be applied under any environment temperature. They can also last long without generating too much heat. Compared to other light bulbs, LED can last up to 11 years of continuous use, equaling to about 100,000 hours.

Plus, its full-spectrum light is comparable to natural daylight which is beneficial to residential or commercial establishments.

HISTORY
British experimenter H. J. Round's early reports of a light emitting diode did not lead to any success. But it was in 1962 when Nick Holonyak Jr., together with the General Electric Company, discovered the use of visible spectrum LEDs in electronic applications that gave LED a place in history.

The use of LED in the industry has progressed and at present is considered as a lighting solution to hospitals, shopping malls, schools and other establishments.
